Is Google’s Cromebook the new way to compute?

Google Chrome bookThe Chromebook is a device running Google Chrome OS. This devices is a very unique personal computer. The Chromebook is not like a traditional laptop, the best way to explain it is by using this great Chromebook videoChromebooks are built and for the web, where most people already spend most of your computing time. So you get a faster, simpler and more secure experience without all the headaches of ordinary computers.

This week there has been a big push for sales of Chromebooks when London gots first new Google Chromebookshop. The store and the book look cool and exciting and its clear that Google are attacking the personal computer market space, currently dominated by Microsoft and Apple.

However despite being so cool and exciting, are we really ready for the chromebook?

In my opinion most people who only use web based programs are. What I mean is; if you write emails, create documents use social media and use web apps, then the Chromebook might be your dream personal computer. Although if you use programs that are not yet web based like Adobe Photoshop, 3D-Mac or Adobe Premiere, the Chromebook may not be for you, yet. The programs I listed and many other proprietary programs are not yet available to access on the web, but I am sure in they will in the future. Only then we will truely ready for the chrome book.
