We’ve been busy travelling again with our friends at Starstruck Media!

Starstruck are like our big brothers in the TV world, and work on some cool campaigns. Their team were in the country for Shell’s #makethefuture campaign, and we’ve been lucky enough to travel all around the world…

The campaign is all focused around Shell’s idea that in the power of people’s ingenuity lie the answers to tomorrow’s energy challenges, and that together we can #makethefuture.

Starstruck Media produce live social media content on the ground, including live Facebook Live and Periscope content, 360 videos and Instagram Stories – plus launching Shell’s brand new Snapchat channel (@Shell-Snaps).

Whilst in Singapore we were lucky enough to get a chance to see the beautiful country… and here’s 5 of our favourite things we spotted!

1. The food!

Singaporean cuisine is diverse and mixes a number of influences including the cuisines of the native Malays. We found a lot of Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Peranakan, and Western traditions (including McDonalds!)

On our first day we were treated to Dim-Sum by our host Jade Seah – who took us to her favourite spot in China Town. Yum!

2. The city!

Singapore is known for it’s luscious skyline, and it did not disappoint. From the top of Altitude Bar we were able to see for miles around – and we felt on top of the world!

Shooting a Periscope piece which set the scene for the weekend, the video was able to show the global audience what it’s like to live and work in Singapore.

3. Pixie Lott

The Make the Future festival saw a live stage area erected inside the Changi Exhibition centre for the star performer, Pixie Lott, to take to and entertain the crowds!

A live 360 Periscope was broadcast of the performance, so global and local viewers could tune in, and watch from all angles! Pixie is a Make the Future ambassador and has also appeared in Rio and London with Shell.

4. The cars

One of the most exciting parts of the #makethefuture events is the Shell Eco-marathon, and the Drivers’ World Championship, where teams from all around the world race to design, build, test and drive ultra-energy-efficient vehicles.

With three annual events in Asia, Americas and Europe, student teams take to the track to see who goes further on the least amount of fuel. Over several days, teams make as many attempts as possible to travel the furthest on the equivalent of one litre of fuel.

5. Our team

Working with friends is always fun… but also working with the best in the business is an added incentive!

There was a fantastic team on-hand who made the whole project run smoothly. From production and editing to logistics and filming – we worked as a team to create some fantastic results!
