On the 25th February 2017, Niche and Twitter celebrated International #CreatorDay. It’s the second year that Niche and Twitter hosted an International event to raise awareness of the creative work of the digital creators community.
The day was first initiated by Jo Burford, Community manager for Niche.
If you’ve not heard of Niche yet, Niche is a “creator-first platform” owned by Twitter. The team help creators to grow, understand, and activate their social presence across all networks. The guys at Niche bring creators from within the Niche community branded content opportunities that suit their style on behalf of Twitter brand clients.
Creative Nerds were lucky enough to be at the forefront of this day. We were chosen to create the branding and manage the live social from the @TwitterUK. In line with Niche’s #CreatorFirst ethos, twins Lucy and Lydia took over the @TwitterUK to cover the day for them.
We caught up with Jo at the event and found out what had inspired her to start this day: “Niche is an inclusive community for all digital creators that want to monetize and support their careers through the advantages that branded content brings. I started #CreatorDay in 2016 as a way to celebrate our growing community of exciting and diverse talent on Niche and to highlight the incredible skills within this relatively new industry.
Twitter is dedicated to supporting digital creators and it was great to see so many of the UK’s digital talent at the London office of Twitter; either speaking on panels, in the crowd to support their peers; tweeting all the way!
